Your entries stay on this phone
Everything you log, including voice notes, is stored in this browser on this device. There is no account and no database. If you clear this site's data or delete the app, the log goes with it, so make a backup now and then.
The one exception is Ask. What you type there is sent to an AI model (Claude, through OpenRouter) so it can read it. It passes through this app's server on the way and is not stored there, and nothing from your log is ever sent. Check in, Log and Backup never leave the phone.
Backup
Save a backup file to your phone. It holds your entries and voice notes. You can restore from it here on any phone.
Add to Home Screen
On iPhone: tap Share, then "Add to Home Screen". On Android: open the browser menu and tap "Install app" or "Add to Home screen". It then opens like a regular app and works offline.
About the wheel
Seven core feelings, 41 in the middle ring, 82 on the outside. Every word comes with a definition, and the small line above each definition tells you where that definition comes from.
Established concept. The word has a standard meaning in psychology or clinical practice (fear, guilt, loneliness). The definition is a plain-language version of that meaning.
Best-fit reading. The word is everyday language with no single official definition (cheeky, awful, let down). The definition is built from the closest research concepts, which are named on that line. It is a careful interpretation, not a textbook entry.
Tap any E or I in the app to see this again. None of it is a diagnosis; the wheel is a map for finding words.
Questions
- What is a feelings wheel?
- A feelings wheel is a circular chart that starts with a few core feelings in the center and gets more specific toward the edge. This one has 7 core feelings, 41 words in the middle ring and 82 on the outside, 130 in all, each with a plain-language definition. Start from the core feeling that is closest and move outward until a word fits.
- Where do the definitions come from?
- Each definition is tagged E or I. E means the word is an established concept with a standard meaning in psychology or clinical practice, and the definition is a plain-language version of it. I means the word is everyday language with no single official definition, so the definition is a best-fit reading built from the closest research concepts, which are named. None of it is a diagnosis.
- Is my log private?
- Yes. Check-ins, notes and voice notes are stored in the browser on your own device. There is no account and no database, and nothing from the log is sent anywhere. The only thing that ever leaves the phone is the text you choose to type into Ask.
- What does Ask do?
- You describe what happened in your own words, and an AI model reads it against the wheel's definitions and suggests a mix, such as mostly let down and partly worried, with a short plain explanation. It is a way to find words, not a diagnosis. Only the text you type there is sent.
- Does it cost anything or need an account?
- No. It is free, there is no account, and it runs in the browser. Add it to your home screen and it works offline.

Not medical or mental health advice. Feelings Wheel is a vocabulary tool for naming feelings. It is not therapy, counseling, a medical device, or a substitute for care from a licensed professional. It does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition. If you are concerned about your mental or physical health, talk to a doctor, therapist, or other qualified professional.
Not for emergencies. If you or someone else may be in danger or thinking about self-harm, stop using the app and get help now. In the United States, call or text 988 (Suicide and Crisis Lifeline) or call 911. Outside the US, contact your local emergency number or crisis line.
The definitions are plain-language interpretations. They are written to help you find words, not as clinical or diagnostic criteria. The E and I tags describe how each one was built, and they may not match how a clinician or textbook would define the same word.
Ask uses AI and can be wrong. The Ask feature sends only the text you type to an AI model (Claude by Anthropic, reached through OpenRouter) and shows its suggestion. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or miss what matters. Treat it as a prompt for your own reflection, not as an assessment of you. Text you send is handled under those providers' terms and privacy policies while it is being processed.
Your data is yours, and only on your device. Entries, notes, and voice notes are stored in this browser on this device and are never sent to us. That also means we cannot recover them. Clearing site data, deleting the app, or losing the device deletes the log. Use Backup if you want a copy, and keep that file somewhere safe, since it contains everything you logged.
Use at your own risk. The app is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for decisions you make based on it or for loss of data. It is intended for adults; it is not directed at children under 13.
About the wheel. The seven-family feelings wheel is a widely shared teaching tool that builds on earlier emotion wheels. This app is an independent project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the authors of any published wheel.
By using the app you agree to the above. Questions or concerns: use the address on the site's domain record, or ask whoever shared the app with you.
